Thank you for visiting our website! The history of our family business began back in 1987 with my step-father's scroll saw and my mother's creative mind. My parents, Larry and Gloria Aebly ran their business, Old World Art, out of their Roberts, WI home; my step-dad spent hours on the scroll saw cutting my mom's original hand-drawn designs, which they began selling at crafts shows around the mid-west.
In 1994, Larry and Gloria purchased a laser and began making more intricate and precise designs; at which point they also began to travel further from home to shows out east and down south. As their business grew, both my sister and I got involved by painting and working at art and craft shows.
In 2002 my parents began to retire, and my wife and I took over, renaming the business Old World Ornaments. Since then we've been making our own products, including both my mother's designs and some of our own. Other than a little help from a neighbor with painting, Andrea and I do all of the work ourselves: cutting down plywood, sanding, staining, cutting with our laser, hand-painting, varnishing and attending shows. As of our 2007 show schedule, we have visited and done shows in 17 different states... a number that grows each year!
In addition to busy show schedule, 2007 brought many changes for us including a move across the St. Croix River from St. Paul, MN to Hudson, WI and a change in business structure/name. We are now full-time Wisconsin residents and owners of Wallace Wood Ornaments LLC.
We are thrilled to be doing what we love: making ornaments, attending shows and meeting great people everywhere! Keep an eye on our show schedule and maybe we'll meet you in person at one of our shows around the country!Thank you for your business!
